It’s one thing to read a package description, another to picture how the day actually unfolds. Here’s a realistic walkthrough, based on how a typical full-day booking with us runs.
7:00–7:30 AM — Pickup
We start early, mainly to beat both the heat and the crowds at popular stops. Your driver arrives at your hotel or guesthouse with the car ready — no waiting around at a meeting point.
8:00–11:00 AM — The main activity
This is usually the waterfall trek or main sightseeing block, depending on which package you’ve booked. For Sekumpul & Banyumala Waterfall Trek, this covers the walk down, time at the falls, and the walk back up — the physically demanding part of the day, done while everyone’s fresh.
11:30 AM–1:00 PM — Second stop or lunch
Depending on the package, this might be a second waterfall, a coffee garden visit, or lunch at a local warung with a view. This is also when your driver will point out anything you didn’t ask about but might want to see.
1:30–3:30 PM — Wind down or second activity
Some guests want to keep going; others are happy to head back and relax. If you booked a Custom Driver Tour, this is usually where the flexibility matters most — the itinerary genuinely adjusts to how you’re feeling, not a fixed script.
4:00–5:00 PM — Drop-off
Back to your accommodation, typically before dark. If your day includes a transfer onward (to Ubud or elsewhere), we build in the extra driving time rather than rushing the sightseeing to compensate.
Every day looks a little different depending on weather, group size, and how long you linger at any one stop — this is just the shape of a typical one.
What to expect from the day
- Pace: relaxed. You’re not on a bus schedule, and stops can run longer or shorter.
- Group: just you and your travel companions with a private car and driver.
- Costs: the package covers the car and driver. Entrance fees, local guides and lunch are paid separately on the day (see our driver price guide).
How the stops are chosen
We group stops by direction so you spend more time at each place and less on the road. A Sekumpul day goes toward the north coast, while lakes and temples sit along the ridge toward Bedugul. Our Munduk itineraries explain the groupings, and the best places to visit in Munduk describes each stop.
Making the most of it
- Tell your driver your fitness level and interests on the morning, and we’ll adjust.
- Bring cash in small denominations for on-site fees.
- Pack for the activity. See what to pack for waterfall trekking.
- Check conditions before you go. See best time to visit Munduk.
